DeWayne is invaluable to NSBE. He is a natural leader who has the capacity to guide different constituency groups to a common goal. DeWayne is objective, fair, and properly focused as a steward of NSBE. He drives progress in the organization and is a pleasure to be affiliated with.
DeWayne has a talent for motivating team members and getting them to focus on achieving a common goal. His leadership was key in turning around a dysfunctional executive leadership team and generating the most momentum at the NSBE National Leadership level that I have seen during my tenure. He has served as a valuable mentor and role-model for many of the executive members in the organization.
Dewayne served as an excellent Chair-person Elect. He managed the board well. With his creativity management style, we were able to surpass the goals that we set for the board the year that I was Chair and achieve high standards for the Alumni extension of the National Society of NSBE.
I have known DeWayne for many years and in addition to being a good friend DeWayne has also proven to be a great leader. DeWayne has mastered the skill of providing leadership and making everyone feel that they were an integral part of the team by showing how everyone contributes to the "Big Picture" and the overall success in fulfilling the vision and mission of the organization.
